It was Megan who volunteered to cook this evening and the menu changed as we moved from stall to stall. Our problem was to find meat to cook which we failed miserably because even the supermarket was shut by the time we were heading home although we did have enough cheese, veges and saucisson to last a few days. In the end Megan made risotto with chicken and peas using the stock made from the leftover rotisseried chicken from lunch. This was accompanied by a bean and zucchini salad with goat cheese - a delicious meal in the face of adversity.

On arriving at the villa we unpacked and prepared for pre-dinner drinks. Karen and Ben had diverted to the supermarket on the way from Avignon and acquired the essentials; tonic water, wine, water, butter, meat for a BBQ, some salad stuff, milk and potatoes. So Ben and I built the fire in the BBQ and we cooked the meat and sausages. Our first dinner at the villa was a success but we all crashed at bedtime. So today we went foraging at the I’sle sur la Sorge markets for sustenance.
